About Thomas Regout
Thomas Regout International, based in Maastricht, specialises in telescopic slides, linear guides and sliding systems for horizontal, vertical and diagonal movement. The company combines robotics, interconnected IT systems and controlled production, and holds certifications including IATF 16949 (automotive), ISO 14001 and RoHS.
The challenge
Thomas Regout relies on an experienced but aging workforce, which makes transferring knowledge to new employees increasingly difficult. Assembling and disassembling the tools for telescopic slide production is complex, labour-intensive and requires extensive training.
The 3DX training platform: no-code work instructions
Together with Thomas Regout, Recreate deployed the 3DX training platform: a no-code solution that lets you build work instructions through drag-and-drop, without programming. This way, experienced employees capture their own knowledge in clear, step-by-step instructions.
The platform imports STEP files of the 3D models and turns them into interactive 3D animations, step by step. Through the integration with Thomas Regout’s MES system, the work instructions fit seamlessly into the existing production environment.
